These are Audi's electric cars for 2024
In the Volkswagen Group, the noble subsidiary was at the forefront of electrification. Currently, only three models are still available at dealerships - but after a long dry spell, other new electric cars such as the Q6 E-Tron and a facelift of the E-Tron GT will follow this year.
Audi Q4 E-Tron

One platform, many models: With the Modular Electric Toolkit MEB, the Volkswagen Group has put a whole armada of new electric cars on the road. They differ in dimensions, design and interior, but all use the same technology. At noble subsidiary Audi, the time had already come in mid-2021, when the compact SUV Q4 E-Tron and shortly afterwards the identical coupé version Sportback streamed to dealerships in quick succession. Thanks to the more streamlined flat roofline, the latter even manages a few kilometers more per battery charge.
What both variants have in common is that you don't even see their electric heart at first glance: sporty, modern design without looking overly futuristic. The same applies to the interior: floating shelves here, conventional instead of extravagant seats there, and air conditioning with buttons instead of touchscreen submenus. And thanks to the MEB design with battery in the underbody, there is plenty of space in the almost 4.60-metre-long Q4 like in a five-metre SUV.
For the recent model update, the former basic version has now been removed - instead, Audi has given more power thanks to a new rear motor with 286 hp, more charging power for faster charging on the road at the fast charger and a new charger so that you can now fill the battery at home with at least 11 kilowatts. In addition, the upgrade again provides the necessary distance to the MEB models of the sister brands.
- Sporty-modern, but not overly futuristic design
- Space like in the luxury class with compact dimensions
- Usual high level of workmanship
- Relaxed, whisper-quiet glide
- Various drives and different battery sizes available
Audi Q8 E-Tron

When the E-Tron entered the Swiss market at the beginning of 2019, it was the first electric SUV from the three German premium competitors Audi, BMW and Mercedes. And he showed how to hum into the noble league with electricity. Now the 4.90-meter-long SUV has been upgraded, especially technically, thanks to new batteries and more power - and put on a par with the SUV flagship Q8 in terms of name. Nevertheless, the five-seater, newly called the Q8 E-Tron, remained futuristic: instead of classic exterior mirrors, it is also optionally available with cameras that project the traffic situation onto small screens in the interior. This takes some getting used to at first, but it has aerodynamic advantages.
The family-friendly E-Tron is also trimmed for efficiency in other respects: Although nominally an all-wheel-drive vehicle, the SUV mainly drives the rear wheels and can lower the body by up to 7.6 centimeters. Together with the sophisticated recuperation, with the help of which the E-Tron feeds electricity back into the battery when rolling and braking, a range of around 600 kilometers should be possible, depending on the version. The Q8 E-Tron is still available as a coupé variant Sportback and as an S-Sport version and offers a power range between 340 and 503 hp. At at least almost 90,000 francs, however, the noble family electric car also has its price.
- Family-friendly space
- High-tech features such as virtual exterior mirrors
- Classy cockpit with fully digital instruments
- Enormous recuperation power ensures more range
- Emphasizes effortless and smooth handling
Audi E-Tron GT

At his presentation at the beginning of 2021, head of design Marc Lichte praised the E-Tron GT as the most beautiful of all the Audis he penned. And we agree: The almost five-metre-long luxury saloon is visually a great success and as powerfully elegant as we expect from a real top model. The GT, developed together with the Porsche Taycan, has it thick under the lightweight body and heaves up to 530 hp, in the RS top version even up to 646 hp on the four drive wheels. In contrast to its technology brother Taycan, the GT is more of a supple noble glider than a brute super electric car, as is typical of the name, but also masters rapid cornering from the FF on the gas command - thanks to standard air suspension and all-wheel steering. With a maximum of 479 kilometers, range anxiety is also a foreign word for this electric Audi.
In the perfectly insulated cockpit, the core of which is imaged by two high-resolution screens, the driver can access all the assistants that the Audi shelf currently provides. Optionally, the silence can be broken by the electric sports sound specially developed for the E-Tron GT. However, its price in excess of 100,000 francs also makes people sit up and take notice.
- Powerful, elegantly designed body
- Rocket-like start
- Driving dynamics perfect electric Gran Turismo
- Relatively large amount of space in the trunk and rear
- Even very long distances are no problem thanks to ultra-fast charging
